The Advanced Medical Technology Association, AdvaMed, (formerly HIMA) is the largest medical technology association in the world. They represent more than 1,100 innovators and manufacturers of medical devices, diagnostic products and medical information systems.

AdvaMed’s Medical Technology Learning Institute (MTLI), which provides regulatory, technical and professional training to medical device professionals, is now offering a series of their industry workshops on CDs. Utilizing a new technology, which includes both the PowerPoint slides AND the speakers’ live comments, it is the next best thing to being at the meeting itself.

Each set consists of 5-7 CDs covering all the workshop material with individual presentations lasting from 30 minutes to an hour. You can access the information at your own pace; move forward and backward through the slides to review details; give to a new employee for training; or use with an LCD for a staff meeting. To access, you must have a CD drive, PowerPoint software and sound card with your computer.

There are now nine workshops on CDs covering topics such as Electronic Records and Signatures, Complaint Handling, HIPAA, Corrective and Preventive Action,  and 510(k) Submission. See AdvaMed’s web site at: www.advamed.org/mtli for a demo and more details.
